Meade Computing, LLC was started in 1995 by Patrick J. Meade. Pat earned his computer science degree from Iowa State University and worked in software development for over 25 years. Meanwhile in 1995, he started fixing and building computers for family and friends.

Word spread and by early 2010, he was working two full-time jobs: the "day job" as a senior systems engineer and then he would put on his Meade Computing hat and serve local clients' computer needs evenings and weekends.

He needed to make a decision...

As of April 2010, Pat decided to leave a well-paying position to take Meade Computing full-time. In June 2010, the Limited Liability Company (LLC) was formed.

Word of mouth is the reason for our growth. In the fall of 2010, we also began to advertise and the business continued to grow to the point that Pat's wife, Janet, with her accounting background, joined the company full-time in December 2010. Janet offers accounting services and training. As of February 2011, the company moved from a home office to an office at 110 NE Trilein Drive, Suite 5 in Ankeny.
