Recovering data from a failing hard drive is a real art and Meade Computing is usually successful when others fail. Your data is precious and if you lose it, you can spend countless hours recreating documents. Worse yet is that the digital pictures you have on your computer are irreplaceable!
At the first sign your hard drive may be failing, turn the computer off (unplug it if necessary) and call Meade Computing. Don't wait until if fails completely; if that happens you can lose all that valuable information.
Signs your hard drive is about to fail include:
- Longer than usual start-up (boot) time
- Booting to the "Start Windows Normally" black screen
- Sudden shut down resulting in the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD)
- Slow response time
- "Funny" noises
PROTECT YOURSELF WITH A BACK UP SYSTEM: We recommend that you have a good BACKUP SYSTEM in place and can set that up for you.
COST: $85 per hour for this service. The typical time required does not usually exceed two hours and includes transferring your data to an external hard drive (provided by the client) or burned onto CD or DVD media. If we are unsuccessful in recovering your data, there is no charge. Even if that is the case, we have other approaches that can be explored.
