Networking

connectionsMaximize the productivity of your technology investment: By putting a network into place, you can share information between computers and share access to printers and other peripherals. Meade Computing installs both wireless networks and traditional hard-wired networks.

Wireless networks: We install wireless hubs and protect the security of your wireless network. With a wireless hub in place, you can take your laptop anywhere in the house (or onto your deck or patio) and access your email and the Internet. Security is very important with wireless technology and we make sure that your wireless access point is password protected.

Hard-Wired networks: We run the wires through your walls so that everything looks neat while your computers and printers throughout your home or business are connected, increasing efficiency and making sure you get maximum benefit from the equipment you own.

For example, in one client's home, there are three printers: Color, Duplex, and Standard Black and White. By having a network in place, each computer user in the home can print to any of those three printers, based on his or her needs. The duplex printer prints on both sides of the paper so it is perfect for bigger print jobs. Color printers are great but are more expensive per page so that printer is used only when color is needed.

Laserjet Printer

LASER VS INKJET PRINTERS

When you're ready to buy a new printer, consider that even though ink-jet printers cost less upfront, the ink cartridges are expensive to replace which means that ink-jet printers typically cost 8 cents per page while laser printers usually cost about 3 cents per page. The decision to buy one or the other depends on how much printing you do. If you print a lot, it's less expensive in the long run to buy a laser printer. HP printers are the best on the market today and Meade Computing will purchase and set up your new printer for you.
